Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo
About this Nominee
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo was founded in 1953 and has served generations of young people and families throughout the Kalamazoo community. For more than 70 years, the Club has provided safe, supportive, and enriching out-of-school time programs that help youth build confidence, develop positive relationships, and discover their potential.
Over the years, BGCK has continued to evolve in response to the needs of youth and families. Our programs support academic success, healthy lifestyles, character and leadership development, arts enrichment, recreation, and teen engagement. We work to ensure that young people, especially those who need us most, have access to caring adults, high-quality programming, and a safe place to belong.
BGCK is currently in an important season of growth. With the opening of our new Club facility at 847 Portage Street, we are expanding access to programs, welcoming more youth, and strengthening our ability to serve families across Kalamazoo. This growth reflects both the ongoing need in our community and the trust families place in the Club as a consistent youth development partner.
