About this Nominee

What began as a depression-era soup kitchen in 1933 is now a multi-campus, comprehensive ministry reaching those in our community in need of hope and healing. Offering emergency shelter to men, women, and children, KGM (Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries) supports individuals in their path forward to stability.
We offer immediate needs and then begin to unpack what has led to homelessness. Through
a variety of programming options, KGM provides one-on-one support, education, life skills, and workforce training.
Additionally, KDC (previously known as Kalamazoo Deacons Conference) helps those in our community who have a place to stay but are struggling to make ends meet through a food pantry, housewares, clothing, and birth certificates.
