About this Nominee
Do Something Co. is a woman-owned business founded by Laurel Day, a mom of three from Kalamazoo, Michigan. What began during the COVID lockdown in 2020 as a creative outlet—simple DIY projects shared during Zoom calls and porch drop-offs, has grown into a thriving business focused on bringing joy, connection, and creativity to people’s lives.
Today, Do Something Co. hosts hands-on workshops, retreats, pop-ups, and corporate team-building events designed to help people step away from stress and responsibility and rediscover what lights them up. Whether it’s arranging florals, building a custom charcuterie board, or designing a hat from scratch, every experience is rooted in the belief that creativity is for everyone, and that making something with your hands can shift your whole day.
Laurel’s mission is simple: to create spaces where people feel inspired, encouraged, and like they belong. Whether it’s moms needing a reset, teams looking for something more meaningful than another meeting, or individuals craving connection, Do Something Co. exists to help people do something that makes them feel good. Something hands-on. Something joyful. Something that reminds them they’re allowed to have fun, be creative, and take up space.
