Gilbert and Ivy is a full-service bookstore which focuses on building community through story, service and collaboration. We have worked in partnership with over 50 small businesses and local organizations to hold reading focused special events and community activities.
To support literacy in rural Southwest Michigan, Gilbert and Ivy has participated in book themed fundraisers for the Burr Oak Library, the White Pigeon Book Mobile, the Schoolcraft Library, The Big Read Machine mobile summer library, school book fairs and Battle of the Books.
In 2026, Gilbert and Ivy was one of the founders of the Pulp & Press Lit Arts Fest. This two-day celebration of the written word brought over 1700 visitors to the area. Guests had the opportunity to meet over thirty authors, illustrators and poets from throughout the Great Lakes Region including New York Times Bestselling Author of "Remarkably Bright Creatures", Shelby Van Pelt.
